PROPEL is a 4-week intensive empowerment program in which early adolescents will participate in a group counseling session and subsequently participate in a group fitness training session designed to improve self-esteem, self-confidence and self-worth through personal exploration, progressive skill development and peer support.
In this program youth will: work on strength training, learn how to identify and effectively deal with emotions, improve balance, coordination and body awareness, learn conflict resolution and teamwork skills, the you will learn how to feel empowered and how to set and achieve personal goals, while developing joint stability, improve agility, and increase cardiorespitory efficiency.
-Meeting 2x per week for 4-weeks
-45-minute group empowerment session (2x/week)
-45-minute group training session (2x/week)
-free attendance in PACT Workshop and Healthy Family Seminar
** Note: Group counseling session precedes group fitness sessions.
** Child must complete a screening interview prior to participation.
