Position Title – Marketing and Events Coordinator
Part-time 20 – 24 hours per week
Hourly Wage $18 - $21 per hour depending on experience
The ideal candidate for the Orion Area Chamber of Commerce Marketing & Events Coordinator must:- Be committed to providing professional and friendly assistance and excellent customer service at all times
- Be experienced and proficient in mailing software (Constant Contact preferred), graphic design platforms (Canva preferred), Customer Relationship Management software and social media platforms
- Be proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Be available for occasional events and programs that take place before and after normal office hours (Ribbon Cuttings, Signature Events, Educational Workshops, Mixers)
- Have a passion for people, enjoy communicating, and be social and enthusiastic
- Be well organized, creative, flexible, tidy, steady, resourceful, and dependable
- Have outstanding interpersonal and team building skills
- Exhibit community focused traits and the have the ability to build trusted relationships
- Have the ability to work with a cross-section of personalities in a respectful and timely manner
- Work well under pressure and pending deadlines, organizing, planning and prioritizing work
- Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships
- Have critical thinking skills; make decisions and solve problems
Specifically - The Marketing and Events Coordinator shall be responsible for:- Design, organize and execute Weekly E-Newsletter, and Designated E-Blasts;Design and produce all event printables including invitations, flyers, signage, event programs; Design PowerPoint presentations and website graphics; Design FB special event invitation posts
- Lead support and coordination of all Chamber events including, but not limited to, signature events, networking events, Golf Outing Fundraiser, committee meetings, and programs; Lead for Ribbon Cuttings including Scheduling, Reminders, Certificate of Appreciation, and Signage
- Other duties as directed by President and CEO
Orion Area Chamber of Commerce Staff Members must:- Conduct themselves in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner

- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, bylaws, policies and the code of ethics
- Agree to act in the best interest of the Chamber and act honestly, fairly, ethically and with integrity
- Adhere to the Chamber Organizational Chart
- Have open communication with the President and CEO regarding work schedules, assignments, absences, professional and personal conflicts, etc.
- Make effort to participate in the Chamber’s Signature events, Ribbon Cuttings, Golf Fundraisers, and Networking Events if they are outside of normal office hours

The Chamber is a 501 (c) (6) non-profit organization, funded through chamber membership investments, sponsors, and fundraisers. We are a passionate team of 12 volunteer Board of Directors, 3 paid staffers, and 340 enthusiastic members that generously share their time, talents, and treasures. Together we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the Orion area and are proud to offer an energetic and friendly environment in which businesses can joyfully flourish!
